Abstract
This research is motivated by the low level of mathematical critical thinking skills and the high level of math anxiety among seventh-grade students at MTs Darussalamah Cilongok. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the Collaborative Learning model on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills and math anxiety. The research method used is an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The research subjects consisted of two classes: a control class taught using conventional methods and an experimental class taught using the Collaborative Learning model. Data were collected using a mathematical critical thinking test and a math anxiety questionnaire. The results showed that the implementation of Collaborative Learning significantly improved students’ mathematical critical thinking skills and reduced their math anxiety levels. This is evidenced by the calculation of N-Gain values and the significant difference in post-test results between the experimental and control classes. This research provides practical contributions in education, particularly for teachers in selecting effective learning models, helping students reduce anxiety, and assisting schools in developing a more participatory and humanistic mathematics curriculum.
