Abstract

Mastery of Arabic vocabulary is the ability to master units or units of language that function as sentence formers in Arabic. Learning languages is not synonymous with learning vocabulary, meaning to have language skills is not enough just to memorize vocabulary. Speaking skills expressed in the activities of muh}a>d}arah direction become one place for students to express the language possessed by using Arabic. Activity muh}a>d}arah direction is also one of the types of language skills to be achieved in teaching modern languages including Arabic. The problem examined in this study is whether there is a significant correlation between mastery of Arabic vocabulary and motivation of activity muh}a>d}arah towards class VII students of MTs Darunnajat Bumiayu Brebes ?. This research is a correlation study using a quantitative approach. The sample in this study were students of class VII E which amounted to 36 students, because in sampling in this study using random sampling (samples randomly). Data collection is obtained through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. While the technical analysis of the data in this study is to use the instrument validity test and analysis prerequisite test with the product moment correlation formula which correlates vocabulary mastery variables with the motivation variables of the activity muh}a>d}arah the direction of the students. The results showed that there was a significant correlation to the strong level between mastery of vocabulary and motivation of activity muhadarah direction of class VII students of Darunnajat Bumiayu Brebes indicated by the price of a correlation coefficient of 0.651 with a significance of 0,000. Thus it can be formulated using hypotheses: Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a correlation between vocabulary mastery and motivation of activity muhadarah towards class VII students of MTs Darunnajat Bumiayu Brebes.
