Abstract

This Tesis is entitled "The development history of Raudlatussu'ada Islamic Boarding School and the role as Social Religion in Buaran Bantarkawung Brebes Central Java (1962 - 2019)". The research factors discussed in this tesis include: 1) How is the development history of the Raudlatussu'ada Buaran Islamic Boarding School, Bantarkawung Brebes, Central Java (1962-2019)? 2) What Are the Roles and Contributions of the Raudlatussu'ada Islamic Boarding School about Religious Social Life in Buaran Bantarkawung Brebes Central Java (1962-2019)? This research used historical research methods through the heuristic stages of collecting historical sources by interviewing caregivers, community leaders, and archives in the form of boarding school establishment deeds, verification (data criticism), interpretation, and historiography. In this study, the authors used a social diversity approach. While in theory, the author uses the theory: challenge and response by Arnold J. Toynbee.The results of this study concluded that: 1) Raudlatussu'ada Islamic Boarding School was founded in 1962 by K.H. Abdussalam, and has developed from various aspects including the development of facilities. and infrastructure, education system, santri, programs, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of Raudlatussu'ada Islamic Boarding School. 2) Raudlatussu'ada Islamic Boarding School plays a role in the socio-religious role of Buaran Bantarkawung Brebes transforming itself as a religious education institution, as a preaching institution, and as a social institution.
