Abstract

Factors that are sufficient to determine the quality of education include motivation and teacher performance. Work motivation and good teacher performance will support the achievement of quality education. This study discusses the problems, among others: 1. How is the motivation of PAI teachers who are certified in learning PAI elementary schools in Salem Brebes District? 2. How is the performance of PAI teachers who are certified in learning PAI elementary schools in Salem District? This research is a qualitative research. Data collection methods with questionnaires, observations, and documentation. This study uses Focus Group Discussion (FGD), which is data collection for the entire unit through focus group discussions. The data was compiled from the PAI Public Elementary School teachers as many as 3 certified PNS teachers and 14 Non-PNS teachers who were not certified. The results of this study found an increase in motivation and performance of certified PAI elementary school teachers as evidenced by an increase in performance: First, the performance of certified teacher educators in learning planning is seen from the preparation of the learning tools set by the teacher, the equipment compiled is complete and has been used in the learning process in class. Second, the performance of certified teacher educators in the implementation of learning can be seen from the teacher's understanding of the completion of the task in accordance with the allocation of time for the subject, having compliance with the time allocation given, starting and ending the learning in accordance with the time allocation of taught subjects and having a complete set of learning tools, including evaluation questions, answer questions about evaluation, and evaluation guidelines. Third, the performance of certified PAI SD teachers in teaching evaluations is demonstrated by the availability of learning outcomes assessment documents, the variety of evaluation techniques and methods used and the remedial activities and follow-up of learning by the teacher. Fourth, the follow-up of the audit results of the performance of PAI elementary school teachers certified by educators was demonstrated by having conducted an assessment of the performance of certified teacher educators in this school. The form of follow-up is to report the results of the teacher's performance evaluation in the form of a monthly teacher performance report. The results of this study reinforce the theory of Bemandin and Joice and Keith Davis that the quality of education is influenced by the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and behaviors, work motivation, and the performance of personal organizations.
