Abstract

This article reveals Jodangan ritual performed annually as a representation of gratitude to Allah for his mercy in giving harvest that spread prosperity to the community around Cerme Cave. The history of Cerme Cave is well known as the heritage of phenomenal Islam civilization. Cerme Cave as a historical trace is made a religious tourism for Bantul and its surrounding community. This research found that Jodangan ritual could improve community’s religiosity consciousness as a commitment of loyalty to The Almighty God. Religiosity consciousness in the society has a really important role in affecting mind and behavior to perform religious command sincerely.
