Abstract
Boarding houses are one of the essential needs for students, including those in the UIN Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto Complex. Proper boarding house management that aligns with Islamic economic principles can provide comfort for residents while enhancing blessings for the managers. This study aims to analyze the management system of the "Adem Ayem" boarding house around the UIN Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto area from the perspective of Islamic economics, emphasizing the application of the principles of tauhid (monotheism), ‘adl (justice), amanah (trustworthiness), shiddiq (honesty), and maslahah (public interest). This study also employs an integrative approach that connects Islamic economic concepts with boarding house management practices, an area that has been rarely explored in depth. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. Respondents include boarding house owners, managers, and residents from several locations. The data is analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method to evaluate the extent to which boarding house management aligns with Islamic economic values. The findings indicate that the boarding house management system still has several weaknesses, such as inconsistent rule enforcement, lack of transparency in providing security facilities such as CCTV, and a lack of firmness in enforcing sanctions against violations. From an Islamic economic perspective, boarding house management should be based on the principles of justice in rule implementation, transparency in information, and maintaining trust between owners and residents.
