Abstract
kewajiban yang sama dalam pengasuhan anak khususnya terkait optimalisasi tumbuh kembang anak. Pada kenyataannya, peran ayah sebagai kepala keluarga sering kali hanya dianggap sebagai pencari nafkah bagi keluarga. Permasalahan yang kemudian muncul adalah banyak anak yang tidak memiliki kedekatan emosional dengan ayahnya. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan kurangnya kesadaran seorang ayah untuk terlibat dalam pengasuhan anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) membuktikan pengaruh pengetahuan, motivasi, dan sikap pengasuhan terhadap keterlibatan ayah mengasuh anak, (2) menganalisis pengaruh pengetahuan, motivasi, dan sikap pengasuhan terhadap keterlibatan ayah mengasuh anak, (3) menemukan model hipotetik antara pengetahuan, motivasi, dan sikap pengasuhan terhadap keterlibatan ayah mengasuh anak, dan (4) menganalisis implikasinya terhadap pendidikan terkait pengasuhan khususnya bagi ayah. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini sebanyak 86 orang tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan di UIN SAIZU Purwokerto berjenis kelamin laki-laki berpendidikan S2 serta sudah memiliki anak. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kuesioner pengetahuan pengasuhan dikembangkan dari indikator pengetahuan yang dikemukakan Elizabeth B. Hurlock, yaitu: kebutuhan dasar, kebutuhan bersosialisasi, dan kebutuhan pendidikan atau stimulasi. Kuesioner motivasi pengasuhan dikembangkan dari indikator motivasi yang dikemukakan Asnah Yuliana yaitu: motivasi intrinsik meliputi kewajiban orang tua, sayang anak dan penanaman nilai, sedangkan motivasi ekstrinsik meliputi mendapat kasih sayang anak. Kuesioner sikap pengasuhan dikembangkan dari indikator sikap yang dikemukakan Budiman dan Riyanto yaitu: menerima, merespon, menghargai, dan tanggung jawab. Dimensi keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan anak yang dikemukakan oleh Lamb et al yaitu: paternal engagement, paternal accesability dan paternal responsibility. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pengetahuan, motivasi, dan sikap pengasuhan berpengaruh terhadap keterlibatan ayah mengasuh anak, (2) pengetahuan merupakan fondasi bagi keterlibatan ayah, motivasi sebagai pendorong utama keterlibatan ayah, sikap pengasuhan sebagai pembentuk interaksi, (3) pengetahuan yang memadai, motivasi intrinsik, dan sikap pengasuhan yang positif saling melengkapi dalam membentuk pola asuh ayah yang efektif. SAIFUDDIN ZUHRI PURWOKERTO Ellen Prima 214130100003 [email protected] Doctoral Program in Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies, UIN Saizu Purwokerto Abstract Fathers and mothers have the same obligations in caring for children, especially in terms of optimizing child development. In reality, the role of the father as the head of the family is often only seen as a breadwinner for the family. The problem that then arises is that many children do not have emotional closeness with their fathers. This condition shows the lack of awareness of a father to be involved in childcare. This study aims to: (1) demonstrate the influence of knowledge, motivation, and parenting attitudes on fathers' involvement in childcare, (2) analyze the impact of knowledge, motivation, and parenting attitudes on fathers' involvement in childcare, (3) develop a hypothetical model of the relationship between knowledge, motivation, and parenting attitudes and fathers' involvement in childcare, and (4) analyze its implications for parenting education, particularly for fathers. This research method use quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subjects of this research were 86 teaching and educational staff at UIN SAIZU Purwokerto, male with a master's degree and already having children. The parenting knowledge questionnaire was developed from the knowledge indicators proposed by Elizabeth B. Hurlock, namely: basic needs, social needs, and educational or stimulation needs. The parenting motivation questionnaire was developed from the motivation indicators proposed by Asnah Yuliana, namely: intrinsic motivation includes parental obligations, love for children and instilling values, while extrinsic motivation includes receiving love from children. The parenting attitude questionnaire was developed from the attitude indicators proposed by Budiman and Riyanto, namely: accepting, responding, appreciating and being responsible. The dimensions of father involvement in child care proposed by Lamb et al are: paternal engagement, paternal accessibility and paternal responsibility. The results of this study indicate that: (1) knowledge, motivation, and parenting attitudes influence fathers' involvement in childcare, (2) knowledge serves as the foundation of fathers' involvement, motivation as the key driver, and parenting attitudes shape the interactions, (3) adequate knowledge, intrinsic motivation, and positive parenting attitudes complement each other in forming effective fathering patterns that support optimal child development.
