Abstract

Senen Market is one of the traditional markets in the DKI Jakarta area which is a shopping center for the people of Jakarta and the surrounding area. Senen Market is one of the markets where there are many thrift or used clothing traders in Jakarta. which is located at Jl. Pasar Senen No.3, RW.3, Senen, Kec. Senen, Central Jakarta City, Special Capital Region of Jakarta. Senen Market has been around since 30 August 1733. From temporary observations, there are many things that used clothing traders do at Senen Market, not telling the truth about defects in goods, selling goods at prices above market prices and so on. The aim of conducting this research is to find out how the behavior of traders is reviewed in Islamic business ethics, especially for used clothing traders at Senen Market. The form of this research is qualitative field research. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive analysis techniques, namely by using three activity flows consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data examination technique in this research uses the triangulation method. In the results of this research, it was found that the behavior of used clothing traders in the Senen market has principles that have been fulfilled, namely the principle of free will and the principle of responsibility. The conformity of these principles is demonstrated by traders in trading, they give freedom to buyers and they are also responsible for solving dirty clothes that they say. As for what has not been fulfilled, namely the principle of honesty, the principle of justice and the principle of benevolence, this is demonstrated by traders in providing unclear information, they still differentiate between services to buyers who appear to be less well off and buyers who are rich and also they still do not carry out their worship properly and Their intentions in trading were not shown entirely to Allah. So the results of this research are that traders in the Senen market do not comply with the principles of Islamic Business Ethics.
