Abstract

A halal certificate is an acknowledgment of the halalness of a product issued by the Halal Product Guarantee Organizing Agency (BPJPH) based on a written fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) which states that a product is halal in accordance with Islamic law. Dagingbaik store is one of the beef mills in East Purwokerto that already has a halal certificate. In this research, the general problem raised will be to find out the extent to which the role of halal certificates can increase sales and what the process is for making halal certificates. The aim of this research is to determine the role of halal certification in increasing beef sales at dagingbaik store. The informants in this research were 7 people, namely the right hand of the owner of the dagingbaik store, 2 employees, 2 consumers from dagingbaik and 1 UMKM assistant at dagingbaik in issuing halal certificates. This research is field research. The techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the interviews in this research, it can be concluded that having a halal certificate can be an added value for the dagingbaik store, seen from the results of interviews with the right hand of the shop owner, that the halal certificate provides a very significant increase in sales for the dagingbaik store.
