Abstract

ABSTRACT In Islam, the third pillar of Islam is zakat. This pillar is something that must be done by every Muslim to be in accordance with the guidance of the Qur'an, Sunnah and Ijma'. The expanse of land owned by Beluk Village in Belik District, Pemalang Regency is quite extensive, therefore it is possible that the majority of the people work as farmers. However, in terms of community knowledge related to agricultural zakat is still very lacking. The impact of the lack of knowledge is that there are still quite a lot of people who do not understand agricultural zakat. This study aims to obtain information on how many people understand the obligation of agricultural zakat and its implementation. This research uses a qualitative method. The data collection uses two data, namely primary and secondary. Some of the steps taken in obtaining information and research data, namely by interviews with several sources, observation, and documentation. The data sources obtained were analyzed using field notes and other methods. Then the results of the research are organized in a systematic way to make it easier to understand. The results of the research show that: first, the understanding of agricultural zakat on farmers in Beluk Village, Belik, Pemalang is still lacking, the people of Beluk Village assume that zakat and shadaqah are the same. Then secondly, the villagers still implement agricultural zakat using traditional or hereditary methods, namely by giving it directly either to the local poor, widows, the elderly and the local mosque, not through the institution, either BAZNAS, LAZNAS and so on. This is because the surrounding community still does not know what BAZNAS, LAZNAS, or other zakat channeling institutions are. Keywords: understanding, implementation and agricultural zakat.
