Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between students' critical thinking and their reading comprehension. This correlational research is a designed quantitative research method. In sampling, English teachers were asked to take 9 classes with 68 students. The data used are the results of students' critical thinking test answers and the results of reading comprehension test answers. Data analysis in this study used the Pearson product-moment SPSS 27 correlation coefficient. The correlation coefficient for the two variables was 622 > rt(5%)= 0.244 and rxy = rxy>rt (1%) = 0.317. This means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Reading Comprehension that is not supported by students' critical thinking abilities can hinder students' abilities, lack student interest and difficulty in analyzing information. and Students' critical thinking skills can improve students' reading comprehension. This means that they have a level of reading comprehension that is good enough to learn, but still needs development to achieve optimal critical thinking results.
