Abstract

Currently, the use of Google Workspace for Education as a Learning Management System has been implemented for learning media in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. The aim of this research is to describe the use of Google Workspace as media for English class. This qualitative descriptive study collects data through classroom observation, interview, and documentation. The subject of this research was an English teacher at SMA Negeri 1 Maos. Google Workspace for Education was used in three stages: Planning, teacher was accessed the applications for writing class through belajar.id account; Implementing, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Slides were used as media for teaching writing procedure and descriptive text; Evaluating, Google Forms was used as final semester assessment media. Moreover, there are several advantages, such as ease of collaboration and communication, accessibility and flexibility, efficient classroom management, integration of task management, and increasing teacher productivity. On the other hand, this implementation has several weaknesses, such as a lack of supporting tools, dependence on an internet connection, the need for user training, and the need for more time for application in all classes. However, even so, this is not an obstacle for teachers to use Google Workspace for Education.
