Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that moral education is important for building good character. In addition, this study was conducted to continue previous research on the values of moral education in the islamic book of Bidāyah Al- Hidāyah, as researchers believe that there is a research gap with previous research. The purpose of this study is to analyse more deeply the values of moral education in Bidāyah Al-Hidāyah and its relevance to character education in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. The techniques used in collecting and processing data are editing, organising and finding the results. Results of this study indicate that the values of moral education contained in the islamic book of Bidāyah Al-Hidāyah include morals to Allah SWT including;the morals of having good intentions in studying and the morals of multiplying dhikr / remembering Allah SWT, morals to oneself, including morals to make good use of time and morals to protect oneself and stay away from his prohibitions; morals to fellow human beings, including morals as a teacher, morals as a student, morals towards parents, morals towards ordinary people, morality towards friends and morality towards people who are new to them. Then the value of moral education has relevance to character education in Indonesia, including: religious, tolerance, discipline, democratic, friendly/communicative, social care and responsibility.
