Abstract

Tegalkamulyan village is one of the villages where the majority of the population works as fishermen. Changes in external factors, such as climate change, bad weather, environmental damage or changing fisheries regulations, can create economic uncertainty for fishermen. This can cause fishermen to have difficulty adapting amidst existing problems. This research aims to determine the adaptation strategies of fishermen in dealing with the dynamics of external factors on socio-economic impacts in Tegalkamulyan Village, Cilacap Regency Researchers used field research with descriptive qualitative methods, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Testing the validity of the data in this research uses the data credibility test. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the interactive analysis model developed by Milles and Huberman, starting from data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and reaching conclusions. The research results show that in dealing with the dynamics of external factors, fishermen in Tegalkamulyan Village carry out adaptation strategies by extensifying business land (moving locations), changing or adjusting schedules, diversification and social assistance strategies. A good adaptation pattern will affect the social and economic aspects of fishermen's lives as a result of changes that occur outside their control. These socio-economic impacts can be varied and include several aspects such as income, social change, quality of life of fishermen, ability to overcome challenges, and flexibility in work.
