Abstract

Women are viewed as the poorest entity among other impoverished groups; therefore, empowering women is crucial. The purpose of this study was to analysis strategies for empowering women through business capital financing. The main focus of this study was to analysis the role of business capital financing products offered by BMT Syariah Wanita Islam Purbalingga on the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs in the Purbalingga district. This research conducted qualitative research methodologies to determine the number of participants through purposive sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that BMT Syariah Wanita Islam Purbalingga has a passive role in women's economic empowerment, as it only provides capital assistance for its clients' enterprises. This research used Sara Longwe's analytical framework to analyse women's empowerment. The results revealed that female customers who used business capital financing products had improved welfare, as indicated by advancements in business development and income growth. In addition, their participation in taking decisions increased, and they gained control over their income. Infromant also had an awareness of their position in the household. Apart from that, they have also gained access to resources, but they have not yet had access to skills training.
