Abstract

ABSTRACT The existence of intense competition and rising prices of raw materials, an entrepreneur must have a strategy in dealing with these problems. One strategy that can be used is the product innovation strategy, where this strategy can maintain and increase sales volume. Research on product innovation strategies is needed. The purpose of this study is to find out how product innovation strategies can increase sales volume. The products from UD Maju Mapan consist of meatballs and know where the meatballs are. The innovations used in this research are innovations in the form of adding products and packaging designs to products, product innovations that can increase turnover and sales volume and can win the competition, and increase marketing coverage. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative research type, where the aim is to get an in-depth picture of the case being studied. The object of this research is the product innovation strategy at UD Maju Mapan, Wiradadi Village. This research was conducted in the meatball and tofu meatball industry, which has been well established in Wiradadi Village. Data collection techniques used, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with business owners and workers. Sources of data used are primary data and secondary data. Analysis of the data used with data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique in this study used the triangulation method. The results of the product innovation strategy using three indicators, namely product variants, product design, and product quality. Of the three indicators, it is able to increase sales volume as evidenced by the sales volume data presented. In addition to increasing sales volume, it can also add greater profits.
