Abstract
One of the small industries in Pemalang that is able to absorb labor is the convection industry in Jojogan Village, Watukumpul District, Pemalang Regency. The convection industry is a labor-intensive industry so that in its implementation it requires a lot of manpower. This industry has existed since 2011 and from year to year the convection industry continues to grow and absorbs a large number of workers. Labor absorption can be influenced by several factors including capital, wages and productivity. Therefore the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of capital, wages and productivity on employment in the convection industry inin Jojogan Village, Watukumpul District, Pemalang Regency. This research uses quantitative research. The population is the entire convection industry in Jojogan Village, Watukumpul District, Pemalang Regency. The number of samples is 32 samples, the technique used for sampling is total sampling. Data analysis used classical assumption test, multiple linear regression test, and hypothesis test using SPSS version 22. The results showed that the effect of capital on employment was obtained by the t-count value of 11.049, which was greater than the t-table of 2.045, the significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. In this case, capital has a positive and significant effect on employment. The results of the wage test obtained a t-count value of 2.554 which is greater than the t-table of 2.045 with a significant value of 0.016 < 0.05. This means that wages have a positive and significant effect on employment. Productivity test results obtained t arithmetic value of 3.040 which is greater than t table of 2.045 with a significant value of 0.005 < 0.05.
