Abstract

Indonesian society is very rich in cultural heritage and one of the forms of cultural heritage that until now still has active bearers is traditional ceremonies or traditional ceremonies. A traditional ceremony or traditional ceremony is a certain behavior or deed and utterance carried out by a particular community, and that tradition is inherited from its ancestors. As real as traditional ceremonies are a means of communication, namely communication between the performer of the ceremony and his environment and supernatural powers that are believed to provide protection or solutions to the problems that entangle the perpetrators and supporters of the ceremony. This research was conducted in Gumelem Wetan Village, usukan District, Banjarnegara Regency. The subjects of his research include Mr. Bejo as the surrounding community, then Ki Agus Winaryanto as an activist of the Nyadran Gedhe Tradition, and finally Mr. Sujeri as the caretaker of the area. This research is a type of semi-ethnographic research in which it studies events and their contexts, which presents a view of life of the research subject, as well as a relation to understanding (mind). In this study, it will be described about the views and perceptions of the Islamic community towards the Nyadran Gedhe tradition in Gumelem Wetan Village. Thus this research uses qualitative methods. Qualitative method as a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words of observable people or behaviors. Descriptive research is a research method that describes all the data or circumstances of the subject or object of research then analyzed and compared based on the ongoing reality at the moment and further tries to provide problem solving and can provide up-to-date information so that it is beneficial to the development of science and can be applied more to various problems. Broad description research is a research activity that wants to make a picture or try to describe an event or symptom systematically, factually with accurate preparation.
