Abstract
The low ability to understand mathematical concepts is caused by several factors, both internal and external factors. Internal factors that affect the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts include student interest in learning, student motivation, basic abilities and cognitive abilities. One of the internal factors, namely learning motivation also plays an important role in helping students to understand mathematical concepts. The lack of student learning motivation has a negative impact on the learning outcomes obtained by students. Learning motivation is the driving force from within the individual to carry out learning activities to increase knowledge and skills as well as experience. The ability to understand mathematical concepts is one of the important goals of the learning process. This type of research is field research with non-experimental quantitative methods using survey research. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of learning motivation on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Bukateja. The results showed that there was a significant influence between students' learning motivation and the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Bukateja by 67.3% with the regression equation = 52.076+0.591X.
