Abstract

ABSTRACT The government has issued various policies to control Covid-19 cases, such as recommendations for wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, controlling community mobility and vaccination. In disseminating the policy, the government needs to convey it through government communication. The communication carried out by the government is not systematic and linear between fellow government officials so that people do not fully trust the Government's performance in its efforts to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to analyze government communication in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. The data was taken directly from government communications in conveying the Covid-19 control policy which was submitted through the website of the Covid-19 task force, namely covid19.go.id which contained the PSBB, PPKM, recommendations for wearing masks and washing hands, PCR, and vaccinations. Analysis of the data used is Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis. The results of the study show that the media focuses on the positive side of the policies taken by the Government in setting PSBB, PPKM, the use of masks and washing hands with soap, PCR policies and vaccinations in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic situation and shows that the government is the party with full power over all policies and the public. must comply with all Covid-19 control policies.
