Abstract

Leadership becomes one of terms which can be recognized in increasing the quality of education in a school. The researcher conducted the analysis entitled Kepemimpinan Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan di MI Ma’arif NU Beji. This aims to describe and get an understanding and detailed explanation about the principal’s leadership model, the functions of leadership and the strategies used by the principal in increasing the quality of education in MI Ma’arif NU Beji. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research were taken from the interview with the informants,observations and documentation. After conducting the analysis, it showed that: First, the leadership model used by the principal of MI Ma’arif NU Beji is democracy leadership model. Second, the functions of leadership which applied by the principal in MI Ma’arif NU Beji are; as the supervisor, as the leader and as the manager. Third, three strategies used by the principal in MI Ma’arif NU Beji are; increasing the culture of discipline, increasing the teacher’s competence and increasing the student’s achievement.
