Abstract

In fulfilling its duty to take care of the poor and the delinquent, the government will not have succeeded without the involvement of the citizen to give their affection to them. Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Banyumas is not only an institution dealing with social problems, but also an Islamic institution dealing with education which teaches the orphans the implementation of Islam in daily activities. The management system uses quality management, so that the children that have been graduated from the institution can participate in society in order to improve its Islamic education. This research is aimed to describe: the implementation of quality management of Islamic education, the quality of Islamic education of the orphans at Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Banyumas district. This research uses qualitative approach. Furthermore, it uses observation, interview, and documentation as the techniques of collecting data. The collected data are analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion, while data validation is done by using triangulation. The result shows that: Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Banyumas district has implemented quality management by doing: continuity improvements, cultural changes, reversed organization, keeping the good relation with the customers, hence: 1) Muhammadiyah Putra Orphanage Purwokerto has developed well and it also has excellent Islamic education. These are proved by the achievement reached in academic and non academic level, and also achieved grade B accreditation from province social department, the orphans‟ competencies are expected to be religious human being, having faith in God and good leadership, being a part of the Union, and also having skills that useful for living. 2) Muhammadiyah Orphanage Ajibarang is well developed in facilities, has developing amount of students and the trust from the society. It has several academic and non academic achievements, including the B accreditation from province social department and becomes the example of other Muhammadiyah orphanages in Central Java.
