Abstract

The guidance and counseling is a support services in schools to achieve the vision and mission of the school. Its services strategic role because it focuses on the development assistance activities and reduction potential problems learners. The problem faced is guidance and counseling services in elementary schools do not have a standardized guidelines and rules on implementation. However, as an instance of excellent school, Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Elementary School of Purwokerto possesses this kind of guidance and counseling program. This research is then aimed to get an overview of guidance and counseling management model in the Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Elementary School of Purwokerto. This research is a qualitative case study approach. This research is conducted in both Al-Irsyad Elementary School 01 and Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Elementary School 02 of Purwokerto. The subject of the study consists School’s principal, vice principal, the coordinator of guidance and counseling teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and classroom teachers. Research subjects is determined by snowball method. Data was collected through interview, questionnaire, observation and documentation. Method and resource triangulation is functioned to value the validity of data. The data analysis is performed by reducing data, displaying and drawing conclusion. The research shows that: 1) the value underlying the presence of guidance and counseling program in Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Elementary School are the principles of educational values and objective conditions in Al-Irsyad Al- Islamiyyah Elementary School of Purwokerto as fullday school, have a great number of student, and as inklusif school, 2) the guidance and counseling program in Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Elementary School has accomplished the function of management such as leadership, planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, evaluating, reporting and following up, and 3) the guidance and counseling management model developed in Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Elementary School of Purwokerto is the integratif comprehensive management based on Islamic values.
