Abstract

Education supervisors have an important and stategic position in education management. The government should continously make the education supervisors as professionals. To be professional, supervisors shpuld develop their performance and competency. TherResearch decribed and analyzed the supervisors’ performance and competency of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in South Brebes. The study used fixed method with sequential explanatory. The sequatial explanatory is characterized by collection and analysis of quantitative data followed by a collection and analysis of qualitative data. The purpose of this method is to use qualitative results to assist in explaining and interpreting the findings of a quantitative study. This study described and analzsed the performance and the competency of madrasah supervisors in South Brebes. The subject of the study was 10 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah supervisors in South Brebes. Document study, interview, and questionary were the technique to get data. To analyze data was used supervisor assessment analysis issued by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucracy, Likert Scale Analysis, and Miles and Huberman model analysis. The result of the study showed that 1)Eight supervisors got value of performance in range 80-100, the predicate was very good, and two supervisors got value of performance in range 60-79 the predicate was good. 2)They prepared the supervisory program well. They guided the head of madrasah and the madrasah teachers individually by visiting madrasah and collectively in Head of Madrasah Working Group (KKM) and Madrasah Teachers Working Group (KKG) . They monitored and developed Nasional Standard of Education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in South Brebes. Assessment of the performance of madrasah heads and madrasah teachers had not been maximally implemented due to limited time of supervisors.Supervisors periodically arranged daily reports, monthly reports, semester reports, and annual reports are then submitted to the Head Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Brebes Regency. Supervisors provided guidance and training on the professionalism of madrasah heads and madrasah teachers with the development of madrasah head competencies and madrasah teachers. 3) Eight supervisors got the value of competency in range 80-100 the predicate was very good and two supervisors got the value of competency in range 60-79 the predicate was good. It means that all supervisor of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in South Brebes had good competencies to do their tasks. 4)There was a correlation between the supervisors’ performance with the supervisors’ competency.
