Abstract

Women's empowerment program in family life will be able to be the entrance to improvement of family welfare. In connection with that it has been demanding women to be able to sustain the economic resilience of the family. In order to help increase family income, empowerment of women as batik craftsmen becomes quite important to do. This study aims to determine: (1) Empowerment of rural women in increasing family income through batik home industry in Plana Village, District of Somagede, Regency of Banyumas. (2) Empowering rural women's economic perspective of Islam in increasing family income through batik home industry in Plana Village, District of Somagede, Banyumas Regency. This research is a field research with qualitative research type. Data collection techniques used observation, documentation and interviews. Data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis, consisting of three activity flow that is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The result of this research is First, Empower woman through batik home industry have take part in supplement family income. The contribution of women's income to family income increased significantly, from the husband's income which is on average only Rp. 500.000, - up to Rp. 750.000, -, increased to Rp. 1.250.000, - to Rp. 1.750.000, - after supplementary income wife. Female batik craftsmen work an average day for 5 to 8 hours. However, the allocated time is relatively flexible. Secondly, in the perspective of Islamic economics, the empowerment of women in batik home industry is in accordance with the provisions in Islam, among them: (1) Should not neglect their duties in the domestic sector; And (2) get permission from her husband. In setting wages, the batik home industry uses a unitary wage system, the more work that is completed, the more wages and vice versa. This wage system is in conformity with the Islamic Shari'ah which recommends that the salary received by the craftsmen, in accordance with the energy that has been given.
