Abstract

The program of taḥfīẓ al-Quran at Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Junior high school Purwokerto is one of the superior programs in this school. It has been running more or less during fifteen years. However, it has not been done the comprehensive evaluation. It can cause the result of program is still not maximum. Therefore, it is needed the evaluation toward taḥfīẓ al-Quran. The purpose of this research is to describe the taḥfīẓ program at Al Irsyad al Islamiyyah junior high school Purwokerto. From this research, it is hoped that it can be a reference for the management of education in the frame of developing taḥfīẓ al-Quran program in this school. The evaluation model which is used in this research is CIPP (Context, input, process and product). This model is developed by Daniel L. Stuffelbeam and friends. The type of this research is evaluative research. It demands requirement which must be fulfilled, those are criteria, benchmarks, or standard which is used as comparative for data acquired. The technique of collecting data was by using observation, interview and documentation. The result of the research is as follows:1) From the component of context, the making of vision, mission and purpose of taḥfīẓ program are good. For the making vision, it is less fulfilled the ideal criteria becouse from the beginning of making the vision of taḥfīẓ program in 2008 until now, there is still no changing yet. 2) From the component of input. It showed that the input of teacher, student, curriculum and facility are good. For the input of student, it is less fulfilled the ideal criteria for reciting al-Qur’an becouse they have not understand yet about the tajwid knowledge theoritically and practically, the role of arabic and they can not recite al-Qur’an fluently. While from the input of means, some of place of learning al-Qur’an are not comfortable. 3) From the component of process, the using of method and media of learning are good, for determining and choosing the material of taḥfīẓ are still generally same between the students who are in middle to above academic and special need student, the placing of time learning has the same spreading as other subjects. 4) From the component of product, it is good. The achieving of taḥfīẓ and tahsin have appropriate target which is determined by school.The observation book which is made by the school is very efective to observing the student habit in the case of reciting al-Qur’an at home.
