Abstract
During adolescence, an individual had a transformation from a child to an adult, at this moment the individual really needs guidance especially from both parents because they begin to nudge the new world. They need a mentor who can direct them to the things they must and must not do. Therefore, in the case of broken home family, many juveniles who misplaced or became a naughty teen caused by the absence of a mentor figure during the transformation. However, in this study, the researcher found the broken home juveniles who can reach some achievement and behave well. This research uses the qualitative approach with case study research, that is research method in social by conducting a longitudinal investigation, comparing changes in the subject after a period of time. Research subjects are JAP and F, students in IAIN Purwokerto who receive the Bidikmisi scholarship. The data were collected through observations and semi-structured interviews. The result of the study is JAP’s achievement motivation is shown in the form of always trying to do the best and always praying, and because of some promotors like mother, families, and a close friend. The subject JAP who has ideal to become a teacher start practicing her ability by teaching children to take a lesson and write that can support the goals. Meanwhile F’s achievement motivation is seen from her activeness in learning, and following activities that can support her ideals. The subject F has a goal of being a preacher. This goal is strongly supported by the mother, family and also close friends.
