Abstract

An Islamic educational institution is considered to be successful when it is able to create cognitively competent skillful and noble learners. Moral is the foundation and the reflection of one's faith so that morality in Islam is a pillar which is very fundamental because it is key to the success in the world and the hereafter. For achieving this matter SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto has launched Moral Education Program (PPA) since 2009 until now. The moral education program has been going for approximately six years, thus it is worth to be evaluated and researched. The purpose of the research is to describe and analyze the contexts, input, process and product evaluation of the moral education program in SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto. This is an evaluative study incorporating qualitative and quantitative approaches. CIPP (Contexts Input Process Product) was used as the model of the evaluation. The data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively to give the description and quantitatively to find out the percentage of the success of the program. The revelation of the moral education program in SMA IT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto in accordance with the law and the concept of education are summarized as follows: (1) In the context evaluation: laws on moral education purposes should be clearly stated so that they can be understood by all the stakeholders. (2) In the input evaluation: The quality of teachers’ morality need to be improved relating to environmental sensitivity. The students’ discipline in terms of obeying the school rules needs to be standardized so that students can understand the purpose of the enforcement of the rules and the affectivity of the use of worshiping and moral monitoring book needs to be reexamined. (3) In process evaluation: The daily donation program of the students requires an effective strategy for its success through motivation and charity. Students monitoring from teachers needs to be intensified more, especially in terms of monitoring and activity which doesn’t include all teachers yet. (4) In product evaluation: Generally, the students’ morality has been evaluated well. However, there are some aspects which are considered to be dissatisfactory, especially in terms of discipline, environmental awareness, politeness, confidence, and honesty.
