Abstract

Gus Dur is the son of big “kiai” the grand son of K. H. HasyimAsy’ari, the leader of Tebuireng Islamic Centre and the son of Farmer Religion Minister at Soeharto cabinet. He is controversial and eccentric person. Gus Dur is a pluralism figure, able to pack at once blow his wing in five part; religy,democracy , ideology, cultural and politic. Not rarelyhis attitudes and actions made big “kiais” doubt. Moreover his stricts/students as big part of the society based on nahdliyin “sterss or depression”. Not able to understand his main set nor action, the number one figure “ordebaru” maid foolish, to face his political movement and issues. When Gus Dur was a Presiden, acted in the frontest line to teach Indonesia people to do the righ hermit democracy.When he was criticized, blasphemed or insulted by his opponents,ready to accept, without giving revenge at all, meantime he was a president. His mind, attitude and action always consistent, just for do the religyrigh way, to do democracy, ideology, culture and politic. Key word : Gus Dur, religy, democracy, ideology, culture and politic.
