Abstract

ABSTRACT Mira Purnamasari Safar Islamic Studies Doctor Program Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri Islamic State University Indonesia faces educational problems that need attention and solutions to improve its quality. Education that prioritizes the development of cognitive abilities over affective and psychomotor abilities has not produced quality graduates. The quality of education is closely related to the curriculum which is the guideline for learning in schools. In November 2019 the Minister of Education and Culture announced a policy of independent learning. In Indonesia, it turns out that there have been anti-mainstream schools that have developed independent learning practices, one of which is the Green School. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method which is included in the mini ethnography, carried out in the period March 2020 to July 2021 offline at the research locus, namely the SoU at the Elementary School and online research related to the Covid 19 pandemic conditions. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies, data analysis using the Speadly technique while testing the validity of the data using member check and triangulation. The results showed that the Green School curriculum had four pillars, namely Islamic characters, logical thinking, leadership and business. The Green School not only focuses on students' cognitive development in the pillars of logical thinking but also pays attention to the affective aspects seen in the Islamic character curriculum and psychomotor aspects in the leadership and business pillars with learning that involves students actively and independently with experiential learning method. The SoU curriculum for Elementary School (SD) is transaction-oriented where students are positioned as rational individuals and can solve the problems they face. Learning is a dialectical process between teachers and students and between students. Based on the research findings, an independent learning curriculum for Islamic educational institutions with the pattern of Eco Islamic Independent Curriculum was developed.
