Abstract

The tourism sector is important in economic development for the people. Tourist attractions can open business opportunities for local residents. By building good cooperation, the goals in tourism management and development can be achieved easily, one of which is with social capital. Social capital is a resource in relations between people to achieve certain goals. In managing and developing Kemit Forest Education attractions, community social capital is very important to be the beginning in the development of tourist attractions. This research is included in field research, namely the author directly plunged into the natural tourism of Kemit Forest Education. This research is descriptive qualitative by using primary and secondary data sources. In collecting data, the authors used methods of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the development of Kemit Forest Education tourist attractions to date is going well, although there are obstacles that occur due to the lack of public understanding of the management of tourist attractions. The development of this tourist attraction also creates jobs for the local community and makes the economy better. The tour party also contributes to the community such as providing assistance for social activities/social funds, Karang Taruna activities, mosque construction assistance, and education scholarships. The social capital owned by the community and tourism employees is very useful for the management and development of Kemit Forest Education tourism. In the aspect of trust between the manager and partners, it is relatively strong. In the aspect of norms, it is manifested in the form of regulations that must be obeyed according to the agreement that has been made and if they violate it will be subject to sanctions in the form of administrative sanctions. In the network aspect, there can be active involvement from various stakeholders. From an Islamic perspective, the people of Karanggedang Village have responded to social capital that applies the nature of ta'awun (help), takaful (bear each other) and tadhomun (solidarity).
