Abstract

The Qur'an is believed by Muslims as a form of Allah's mercy which is intended for all mankind. The application of the Qur'an has existed since the time of the Messenger of Allah. Along with the times, the results of community interactions with the Qur'an are increasingly varied. Then, a web series appeared titled Ustad millenial, a series that tried to convey the messages of the Qur'an in a "Millennial" style. Researchers want to know how the audience's reception of the verses of the Qur'an in the web series. This research is in the type of digital entography, whose activities are based on the internet. The main data is taken from the web series "Ustad Millennial", and the results of interviews with the audience. While the supporting data taken in the form of journal books, articles and some from internet sites related to the research theme. Data collection was carried out in several steps, namely: observation, and interviews whose sources were determined by using non-peobability sampling techniques, with techniques and writings containing discussions that matched the theme determined by the researcher. The data obtained are presented in descriptive form. Then, the data were analyzed using Stuart Hall's reception theory. The results of the study found that the audience's reception of the verses of the Qur'an in the web series "Ustad Millennial" includes 2 things: First, the construction of the audience's decoding of the verses in the Web Series Ustad Millennial Episode 6. Each individual has a construction such as level of education, relations and means that influence the meaning. Second, the audience's reception of the verses in Ustad Millenial Episode 6's Web Series, researchers found that among the viewers of the web series there were three patterns of acceptance, namely dominant, negotiation, and opposition. In the discussion of nature, 10 informants have a dominant pattern. While in the discussion of qodo and qodar, 3 informants have a dominant pattern, 6 informants have a negotiation pattern, and 1 informant has an opposition pattern
