Abstract

This research is motivated by the necessity to improve the quality of education in order to prepare the younger generation who have competitiveness. One way to improve the quality of education is through supervision programs to improve the professionalism and performance of teachers. This research aims to examine how the implementation of supervision in MAN 2 Banyumas. This research aims to examine how the implementation of supervision in MAN 2 Banyumas. This research uses qualitative research methods with a field research approach, where researchers directly carry out research in the field. The research site is located in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Banyumas. The subjects of this study are the Head of Madrasah, Waka Kurikulum and Guru. The object of the research taken is the implementation of academic supervision. Data collection techniques use three techniques: observation, interview and documentation. Analytical techniques using the Miles and Huberman model, starting from reducing data, presenting data, to drawing conclusions. While the validity of the data uses the Moleong model consisting of credibility, transferbility, dependability and confirmability. The results showed that the implementation of academic supervision at MAN 2 Banyumas is qualified, and was done gradually. In the first stage, the Head of MAN 2 Banyumas carried out supervision planning by formulating and considering several things, such as goals, schedules, approaches, techniques, models, instruments, programs and supervision time, as well as forming a team of supervisors from senior teachers. In the second stage, supervision is carried out using individual techniques such as classroom visits, classroom observation using supervision instruments and group techniques such as teacher meetings. After supervision, the Head of MAN 2 Banyumas conducted an evaluation, monitoring and carrying out follow-up. Follow-up is carried out with reinforcement and awards given to teachers who have met the standards, reprimands of an educational nature are given to teachers who have not met the standards, and teachers are given the opportunity to follow further training.
